The query checks the absolute value of the metric ceph_monitor_clock_skew_seconds; if it exceeds 0.2 seconds, the alert fires, indicating a Ceph monitor’s clock is more than 200 ms out of sync. When this condition is true for any monitor, Prometheus triggers the Ceph monitor clock skew alert.
