The rule fires when the metric elasticsearch_heap_utilization_percentage remains above 90 % for a continuous 15‑minute window; i.e., if the Elasticsearch JVM heap usage exceeds 90 % of its allocated heap for at least 15 minutes, the ElasticsearchHeapTooHigh alert is triggered.
